Connecticut Food & Farm 2017 Fall Issue

October 2, 2017

The Burnt Shop was featured in the Connecticut Food & Farm Magazine, Fall 2017, Volume 10 publication! How exciting! We are on page 84. Download the issue here.

Denise O’Reilly of The Burnt Shop in Glastonbury “etches glass and burns shit.” When she needed to make holiday gifts on a budget, she opted to make wood-burned spoons for her foodie friends and family; they were so well received, Denise kept burning and went full-time in 2015. She calls her technique “grandpa wood burning,” as she is self-taught and purposely avoids textbooks. Denise uses a state-of-the-art laser that helps to create her professional-quality, botanical designs faster. Her pieces are functional for home and kitchen use – just as Denise prefers in her own home.
